RENEWAL OF DESIGNS
The initial period of registration for your design automatically lasts for five years from the filing date of your application and then be renewed for a further 5 years in Australia, giving a total protection time to 10 years.
There is a six-month grace period for renewal after the first five years of registration. You may renew your registration any time during the grace period. However, you will attract a monthly fee from the date renewal is due.
A renewal reminder will be sent to you in about two months before the due date of renewal.
